THE JOURNEY

The year is 1989. The dream is born! Using skills and experience gained in education and counseling to touch the lives of people in organizations, we operated on the hypothesis that if they became better individuals their organisations and the world would be a better place.

Watkins and Associates – Personal / Professional Development Services took individuals out of the organization, dusted them off, give them a brand new perspective on work and life and put them back into the organization to make a difference.

On examination, the evidence did not support the original hypothesis. The results of this approach indicated that it was a challenge for the individual to go back into the organization, remain focused and initiate change in the face of rigid unchanging organizational realities.In 1995, driven by a professional need to continue to deliver quality results for our clients, Watkins and Associates rode the wave of change.

We chose to focus on the broader picture and adopted a systemic approach to organizational life. Watkins and Associates ODCS (Organisational Development Consultancy Services) was born. Our unit of study and intervention became the organization:- its vision and values, its structures and processes, its culture and its people.


We focused on the dynamic interplay among these organizational elements within a rapidly evolving and turbulent business environment. The results were manifested in our ability to facilitate the alignment of these elements into fluid “whole systems”, organizations that could weather the challenges of business profitably.Committed to embracing and creating change, we have positioned ourselves to serve our clients even better.

Our posture today is one which allows us to compete aggressively at regional and international levels, to collaborate with leading organizations as professional partners and to deliver a wider and deeper range of interventions for client-systems that are expanding in terms of their needs, geographical reach, alliances and aspirations. Out of Watkins and Associates, ODYSSEY CONSULTinc was born!
